Pagadian City (September 2, 2019) – The Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Government formally
opened its first Inter-Office Sportsfest on Monday during the flag raising
ceremony at the Capitol Grounds, Pagadian City.
The sportsfest will be participated
by government employees who will compete in various games events such as
basketball, badminton, table tennis, lawn tennis, volleyball, firing and
others.
All provincial offices were divided
into clusters who will play the sports activities at the Provincial Covered
Court and Dao Government Complex.
In his short message, Governor
Victor Yu said that the activity is one way to strengthen the unity and
relationship of all employees in the province.
He added that the four-day
inter-office sportsfest is aimed to leave good memories for the players and
remove relational gap in every department as workers serving one provincial
government.
The chosen players of each
department along with game officials simultaneously did the pledge of
sportsmanship as a sign of their obedience to the rules and regulations.
Provincial Sports Committee
Chairman Cesar Julu Dacal official announced the start of the games while the ceremonial
tossing was spearheaded by Gov. Yu at the provincial covered court.
At the end of his speech, Gov. Yu
emphasized that the essence of the activity is not on winning but on
establishing teamwork and sportsmanship that can be demonstrated by each
participant – a stepping stone for the provincial government for a better and
stronger Zamboanga del Sur.
