Pagadian City (January 9, 2020) – A young criminology
graduate from Zamboanga del Sur emerged as one of the topnotchers of the
November 2019 Criminologist Board Exam out of over 19,000 passers, Professional
Regulation Commission revealed.
Adrian S. Mandawe landed ninth spot
with 89.90% among the top ten passers of which majority are from Mindanao.
Mandawe is a native of Sugbay Uno,
Dimataling town, Zamboanga del Sur and a son of a farmer-barangay kagawad and
housewife. He is the sixth among seven siblings in the family.
In an interview with the Provincial
Press Bureau, Mandawe said his sacrifices really paid off after overcoming sleepless
hours for 5 months of reading notes and only attended 15 days of study at a
review center.
“As a first-time taker, grabe sakripisyo
gyud sir. Kinahanglan mobasa 12 hours a day for the sake of the board exam. Most
of the time makadlawnan ug basa, sir,” Mandawe shared.
The 21-year old Zambosurian who finished
his studies at the Western Mindanao University- External Studies Unit in
Pagadian City took the examination in Cagayan de Oro City.
He admitted that he really aimed of
seizing the top spot of the board exam.
“Actually, nag-aim gyud ko mag-top
1, ug thankful ko sa akong naabot karon,” he added.
He also told PPB that he was
blessed to be the only sibling of their family to earn a degree and it was his
ultimate dream to give a comfortable life for them.
When asked about the secret to his achievement,
Mandawe asserted that it all begins in aiming high combined with focus and
trust in God.
“Aim high kay walay bayad ang pangandoy.
Mag-sakripisyo lang gyud, stay focused, ug likayan ang bisyo nga makadaot sa
pagskwela. Ug labaw sa tanan salig sa Ginoo,” Mandawe said.
When asked about his motto in life,
the topnotcher quoted these lines: “We never know what tomorrow may bring,
sometimes it may bring sorrow and sometimes it may bring success. Only God knows
everything”.
